WHO ARE WE?

Vets in the Community is a project set up to provide free veterinary care to pets belonging to homeless and vulnerable housed people in Nottingham.

We provide health checks, vaccinations, micro-chipping and treatment for fleas, worms and minor ailments. We can also provide advice on pet health care, for example nutrition and neutering. The clinic is led by students at the Vet School, under supervision from experienced, qualified members of staff.

The student team also fundraise and volunteer locally to raise awareness of the clinic. To date we have ran over 700 consultations for dogs, cats and rabbits, and even a ferret. Our clinic is becoming more and more popular with each month and our clientele is fast expanding.

OUR STORY

Vets in the Community was launched as a pilot project in 2012, with initial funding from Dogs Trust and the University of Nottingham's School of Veterinary medicine and donations from alumni and friends through the Cascade Grants Programme.

WHERE WILL THE MONEY GO?

The money we hope to raise will contribute towards being able to offer the following treatments to our clients:

  • Vaccines and microchips
  • Flea and worming
  • Pain relief
  • Eye and ear ointments
  • Rugs, blankets and muzzles
  • Food FIND US HERE

We've made it to £1000!

Thank you so much for all of your kind donations and support. We are still however, £500 away from reaching our minimum of £1500 pledges, if we do not reach it, we receive NOTHING. Please please please continue to help us, and share our cause with everyone you know so we can keep helping our four legged friends stay as happy as Tia!

Of course you can! Any extra help you could give would be amazing and greatly appreciated :) Thank you!!!

Fantastic effort! Brilliant to have everyone coming together to support this great project - can any of us pledge the same amount again or find someone who will match you, so we can reach the £1500 in the next two weeks?

This is such a great project! Keep going and be proud of everything you are doing :-)

Good luck with this initiative- too important (for so many reasons!) for this to fail.
